      <image:title>ABOUT - About Mel</image:title>
<image:caption>Mel Ng (she/her) is a writer, artist, educator, reiki practitioner and tarot reader currently residing on the unceded ancestral land and water of the Kanaka Maoli. I am a costume designer by training, and have spent over a decade in the performance world. My work is all about connection. From building authentic connections with my collaborators in fitting rooms to making connections between the disparate elements of story-telling; between image and text. My style as a tarot reader is very much informed by this value of connection. I seek to create easeful and warm conditions for our readings in order to allow for a deeper exchange between us. I use my critical and visual skills to find and pull at the threads between the cards, the present moment and your experience of them. I use my intuition and knowledge of the cards in service of translation - I seek to bring my clients the vital messages that live within the tarot. It is important for me to acknowledge my sources of learning. These are some tarotists and healing practitioners whose work have enriched my practice: Jessica Dore Sarah Faith Gottesdiener Camille Langston Lindsay Mack Danielle Park I acknowledge that I am a settler on stolen and US-occupied land. Hawai’i is the rightful home of Kanaka Maoli. This land and water has been a site of healing, nourishment and protection, and it is what enables me to do the work that I do. A portion of my monthly income is directed to Indigenous Landback Movements. If you wish to know more about the American colonization of Hawai’i, here are some resources to engage with: Ka Lāhui Hawai’i Mālama Mākua Kū‘ē Kānaka</image:caption>
